About me

I am Paula Doebrich, a Registered Dietitian, Public Health Nutritionist and the founder of Happea Nutrition: a private nutrition practice in New York City.

Before becoming a dietitian, I worked as a model internationally for a decade. I felt a lot of pressure to control my weight. Up until my early twenties, I was a chronic dieter and always looking for the hottest diet-trends. I fell victim to many fad diets and wellness trends. Eventually, I realized the practices I used to control weight were the opposite of health-promoting and I started questioning whether health and weight can be equated. This experience motivated me to understand what's really behind diet and wellness trends.

Because I myself was hurt by the misinformation out there, I am passionate to provide evidence-based and clear guidance to my clients that is free of unrealistic promises.

As a dietitian, I focus on a highly personalized approach to each person I work with. I am passionate about helping people feel better about their choices. I believe that a healthy lifestyle is one that allows for a bowl of salad and a slice of cake equally and doesn't make you feel guilty about your choices. I hope to empower my clients to feel good by finding a lifestyle that works long-term.

I believe that being healthy is only possible when you enjoy your lifestyle. Restriction doesn't work long-term and is not necessary to feel good in your body.

I accept clients on a case-to-case basis. You can schedule an intro call or contact me to inquire about services.
